Tof Leuba who programmed the show said:
"I patched all the fixtures with one Vector during the setup, and then I connected the second vector as a Node to get the same patch. I programmed the ePorts using Compulite Cnet Manager Software to name and program their IP and DMX Port each one will distribute. I split the DMX universes between the two vectors using the DMX Protocol in the Vector to send ONLY 8 ports each. The two vectors were connected together with a hub that transmitted VC (Ethernet to DMX) to two different ePort in 2 locations: one at "Dimmer city" (behind the curtain) and one in the middle of stage (for floor fixtures). It took Two days of setup & two more days of rehearsals and programming at the same time" "I been working with Compulite for more than 15 years, and I like working with the Vector because it's easy to patch, easy to change the devices when needed, very quick& intuitive programming of the show. It's easy to update a range of cues with special values in the editor & very easy and cool to access fixture using the "Desktop feature" when it's used as Topo...."
Robert Juliat
When Belgian construction group BESIX celebrated its 100th Anniversary, Robert Juliat followspots were present to help highlight the occasion.
The BESIX Group is the largest in Belgium, and operates in construction, roads, infrastructure, environmental, concessions and property development sectors. Most recently it has been a subcontractor on the five-year construction of Burj Khalifa in Dubai, currently the tallest building in the world, and 'Yas Island', where the first F1 Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi took place in October 2009.
The 100th Anniversary celebrations took the form of a spectacular show, "The Bridge", performed at the 13,040 m² Palais 5 at Brussels Expo. Luc Petit, designer and director of large scale spectaculars and long term associate of Franco Dragone, was brought in to create this special performance - which combined dance, acrobatics, lighting, music and effects – to tell the history of Besix and its values. A total of 70 performers were involved across the 12 sections of the show which was enjoyed by over 1000 guests.
Cutting through the output from a large rig of 190 moving lights were 4 Robert Juliat 2500 HMI Aramis followspots, provided by Procon Belgium, which were used to highlight the main performers and features of the show.
The show's Lighting Designer and Producer, Christian Stenuit, says "We chose the Robert Juliat Aramis partly because it has a light output that could cut through the powerful moving lights but also because I have no reason to choose any other tools. Robert Juliat are simply the best followspots on the market!"
